Part 14

“Alright Rei, let me fill you in: The Obsidian Corps is made up of Adepts from different schools around the area…this group is nothing but bad news.

At that time, all by herself, upperclassman Himeshiro boldly stood against them and attempted to uncover their plot. Himeshiro herself possesses quite a powerful septimal power, and rather than gloat about it, she uses that power to protect those who are in trouble with the noble grace of a true goddess.

Yeah! She’s absolutely befitting of the title “Guardian Angel of the School”. Who knows how many students have been saved because of her?.

If the Sumeragi group is taking care of keeping the peace in this country, then our school…no, this whole town! This entire town is safe because of upperclassman Himeshiro, and let me say with 100% confidence that my statement about her is no exaggeration.

No doubt about it. Ahh, yeah yeah, by the way, that same “Guardian Angel of the School” nickname is not just used by students at our school, but students from other schools as well. Who knows how many people she has really saved…” Miu just kept talking and talking.

“Uh, yeah.” That was all Rei could muster up after that verbal barrage. He had never seen Miu so chatty before.

Rei was pretty taken aback, but when he looked over at Himeshiro her face was beat red and she was awkwardly looking down at the ground. The confidence and tone of voice that she was exerting when she felled the criminal had completely vanished. Compared to her very exaggerated nickname and the gutsy way she was conducting herself just a short time ago, she looked like a perfectly normal girl at this moment.

“I think you went a little overboard, Miu. She looks pretty rustled.” Rei warned.

Miu was a bit flustered, and confused.

“Oh…I’m so sorry!!” Miu deeply apologized.

“No no, thank you for the kind words. Sorry I got upset before…I didn’t really mean to.”

“So humble! So kind and modest, right Rei?” Miu excitedly replied.

“You…think so? I dunno…” Rei clearly had his doubts about Miu’s level of enthusiasm for the young lady Himeshiro.

Rei was already pretty bewildered, but Miu kept on going and steadily ramping up her speech, but for Rei, what she was saying was just going through one ear and out the other.

“Thank you for rescuing my sister,” Rei said to Himeshiro as he lowered his head with a rather cold expression on his face.

“What’s your deal, Rei?” Miu was pretty miffed.

“Huh?”

“How can you be acting so nonchalantly right now?! You’re covered in injuries from head to toe! You need to go to the hospital!”

Miu sighed started to continue on her “Himeshiro is so wonderful because…” speech, but all of a sudden, she completely froze.
