Part 12

A girl forced her way between Miu and the fiery sphere.

“Nooo!!”

Miu closed her eyes tight, and screamed at the top of her lungs.

However, the incoming fiery sphere…didn’t explode.

“What in the…?!”

The shock of it not exploding stopped the rampaging criminal in his tracks. That was something he never could have imagined happening.

Just before it would have hit the unknown girl, the ball of fire suddenly vanished.

“Whaaat?! How did my Explosion sepima just…vanish?!”

“Because, you piece of trash, you’re not the only Adept here.”

Those were some cold, harsh words coming from the mysterious young lady.

“Look at you, this how you choose to present yourself? You really screwed up there, buddy. You look like a lame ass petty thief.” The young lady had some of her own sick burns to deliver.

“H-How dare you!” Furious, the man held his hands apart rather wide.

He was forming something big in his hands. The flaming spheres he was hurling before were about the size of a baseball, but this time…this fire ball was swelling up to the size of a dodgeball.

“Looks like you’re a neanderthal incapable of calmly understanding your own situation, huh?”

In the blink of an eye, the girl completely vanished. In the exact same way the fiery sphere did a moment ago, she was just…gone.

The siblings couldn’t help but wonder if that was her septimal power.

Just as quickly as she disappeared, she reappeared behind the fire wielding menace and delivered a swift chop to the back of his head.

“Guuuuh!!” The fire ball in his hand flickered out as he collapsed where he stood.

Her septimal power was truly something to behold; it was like her septima was her own willpower. As for the criminal, although there are rare exceptions, usually when an Adept loses consciousness, their powers cease to function, which is why the bandanna wearing man’s flame went out when he collapsed.

“You OK?”

As if nothing had just happened, she nonchalantly asked Miu that simple question.

“Ye…yeah.”

Miu was still was feeling the shock of the incident that just suddenly transpired. She looked completely bewildered.

“Hey, umm…aren’t you my upperclassman….Himeshiro?”
